Boston Children’s Hospital Partners with Augusto Digital
Boston, MA – Boston Children’s Hospital, one of the world’s largest pediatric medical institutions, has partnered with Augusto Digital to help modernize the hospital’s digital infrastructure and streamline operations. This collaboration will focus on enhancing the user experience for patients, families, and medical professionals.
When BCH was facing challenges in providing a seamless experience for its users with its outdated and costly content management system (CMS), Augusto stepped in to help BCH’s marketing team migrate their website from the expensive Sitecore CMS to a cost-efficient, cloud-based Drupal platform. This transition immediately improved performance, scalability, and flexibility, allowing BCH to better handle surges in web traffic and attract more visitors to its website.
“Without Augusto's help, we would have had to pay an additional $100,000 for the extra third-party software to keep the old content management system,” said Haley Sterczala, Director of Web & Digital Strategy for BCH. “If not for Augusto, we probably would still be on our old content management system.”
Augusto also helped consolidate Boston Children’s web content for SEO from 30,000 to 13,000 pages and into a single, cohesive platform, making it easier for patients, researchers, and clinicians to access information. This streamlined structure improved user experience and simplified digital asset management.
“Our partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital exemplifies Augusto’s commitment to delivering tailored digital solutions that truly make an impact,” said Brian Anderson, CEO of Augusto. “By enhancing their digital infrastructure, we’ve helped them provide a seamless, reliable experience for both patients and medical staff, empowering them to focus on what matters most—delivering world-class care.”
To alleviate pressure on BCH’s call center, Augusto developed a custom chatbot capable of managing routine inquiries, doubling the chatbot’s monthly engagement from 500 to 1,000 interactions and allowing call center staff to focus on more complex patient needs.
By collaborating with Augusto, Boston Children’s Hospital not only enhanced its digital infrastructure but also gained 24/7 technical support and continuous development expertise. This ensured that end users, including patients and staff, experienced faster, more reliable access to vital information and services.
